Who attends the Singles Only Dances?

Generally we expect between 150-200 singles to attend the Singles Only Dances; the ratio of men and women is usually well balanced and the age group is primarily 40s to 60s, although there are some younger and older folks as well. These are nice people, polite and easy going. For many people part of the appeal of the dances is the interesting variety of singles and the new people at each dance. About 40% of the people come for the first time because a friend brought them; it's a friendly crowd.

What happens at an Singles Only Dance?

The dance music starts  at 7 p.m. and usually there are people dancing right away. There is a cash bar set up in the ballroom, for those who would like a drink. Soft drinks, Bottled water and alcohol are available.

There is a large dance floor and a variety of music provided by Erich. There are two mixers every Sunday, and usually there's a line dance or two during the evening. Every dance is ladies' choice (men's choice too). Because the music tempo changes regularly, it is easy to mingle and change dance partners.

How do I meet people at the dances?

Mingle. Look friendly, be friendly. Talk to both men and women. This is a dance, not a "sit." Mingle. Ask people to dance. Say "yes" when someone asks you to dance.
